August 11, 2020. my 15 year old grandson and his 14 year old girlfriend went for dinner tonight to celebrate their first anniversary. I called the restaurant and asked the manager to try and make the evening special for them. The staff did a wonderful job and they both enjoyed their evening. I didn't get my apple turnover, that I ordered and paid for The staff were all standing at the front, in a huddle, talking. The young lady that took my order asked if I'd like my root beer in a mug, while I waited for my order. Which would be about 12-15 minutes, then she would put it in a cup to go and refill it. I am 72 yr. old lady A&W is my favorite hamburger place. I miss the old A&W song. EVERY restaurant I go to I sing it to the employees. I know it by heart. They say they have never heard it before and love it. I remember in the 60s as a teen how they would bring your order on a tray on roller skates and hang the tray on the side of your car.
